NOVATO PUBLIC SCHOOLS

NOVATO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Novato Unified School District serves students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.  It consists of eight elementary schools, three middle schools, and two traditional high schools.  One magnet school, two charter schools, and one alternative school are also apart of the Novato Unified School District.

LU SUTTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 1800 Center Road Novato, Ca 94947 (415) 897-3196 Grades: K-5 Lu Sutton Elementary School houses 23 recently modernized classrooms, a state of the art computer lab, a library media center, and a large multi-purpose room.  They share their campus with an on-site childcare facility, local soccer, basketball, and baseball leagues, and Boy/Girl Scout troops.

OLIVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 629 Plum Street Novato, Ca 94945 (415) 897-2131 Grades: K-5 Olive Elementary School is a neighborhood school serving a diverse population of children in grades kindergarten through fifth.  The school's Computer Lab is equipped with 30 new iMacs with networking capability and monitored Internet access.

RANCHO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 1430 Johnson Street Novato, Ca 94947 (415) 897-3101 Grades: K-5 Rancho Elementary School is recognized as an alternative/specialized school.  In 1989 it was recognized as a California Distinguished School.  A variety of after school programs are offered at Rancho Elementary school including Chess Club, Art, Computers, Spanish, and sports.  Kindergarten enrollment is lottery based while grades first through fifth are enrolled on a first come first served basis.

NOVATO CHARTER SCHOOL 940 C Street Novato, Ca 94949 (415) 883-4254 Grades: K-8 In August of 1996 Novato Charter School officially opened with kindergarten through fifth grade enrollment. An additional grade was added each year and now the school goes from kindergarten to 8th grade. A group of children are taught by the same teacher for a number of years. Other skilled professionals may teach specialty subjects.  Teachers select and present the subject matter integrating Waldorf-inspired methods.

HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL  720 Diablo Ave Novato, Ca 94947 (415) 893-1557 Grades: 6-8 Hill Middle School, located in central Novato, was built in 1953.  It was honored twice as a California Distinguished School in 1994 and 2001.  Hill has undergone renovations to modernize classrooms, three computer labs, physical education facilities, music and science wings, and art and Student Leadership workrooms.
