NOVATO PUBLIC SCHOOLS
NOVATO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Novato Unified School District serves students in kindergarten through
twelfth grade. It consists of eight elementary schools, three middle
schools, and two traditional high schools. One magnet school, two
charter schools, and one alternative school are also apart of the

fifth are enrolled on a first come first served basis. |

NOVATO CHARTER SCHOOL 940 C Street Novato, Ca 94949 (415) 883-4254 Grades: K-8 In
August of 1996 Novato Charter School officially opened with
kindergarten through fifth grade enrollment. An additional grade was
added each year and now the school goes from kindergarten to 8th grade.
A group of children are taught by the same teacher for a number of
years. Other skilled professionals may teach specialty subjects.
Teachers select and present the subject matter integrating
Waldorf-inspired methods. |

Middle School, located in central Novato, was built in 1953. It was
honored twice as a California Distinguished School in 1994 and 2001.
Hill has undergone renovations to modernize classrooms, three computer

Distinguished School, first in 1996 then again in 2003. They offer

Middle School was recognized as a California Distinguished School in
2003 and 2007. Sinaloa has a six-period day of 320 minutes and a
unique rotation system. The first two periods are stationary; period
three, four, five, and six rotate daily. Sinaloa has a combination of
teaching structures that includes homogeneous as well as heterogeneous
groups. |
