San Geronimo Valley Schools
PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN SAN GERONIMO
Students living in the San Geronimo Valley are served by two school districts. Lagunitas School District serves elementary and middle school students. The Tamalpais Union High School District is responsible for secondary education.

The
small towns within San Geronimo Valley, which include Forest Knolls,
Lagunitas, Woodacre, and San Geronimo are serviced by the Lagunitas
School District. There are two elementary schools within the
district.
Grades K-6
Lagunitas
School and San Geronimo Valley School work collectively to offer a
range of educational programs in grades Kindergarten though eighth.
Three different programs are offered within the elementary grades, all
of which are taught in multi-age classrooms. The first elementary
program is a Kindergarten through fifth grade Montessori school. The
second program is an Open Classroom Kindergarten through sixth grade.
And the third is a Waldorf-inspired primary school. Middle school
children are offered a semi-departmentalized program.

TAMALPAIS UNION HIGH SCHOOL
Offers secondary school education to students advancing from ten
elementary districts in Marin County, including the Lagunitas School
District. There are three comprehensive high schools as well as two
alternative high schools within the Tamalpais Union High School
District.

Sir
Francis Drake High School offers a college preparatory program. It is
a California Distinguished School and was recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education as a New American High School. Students from
Lagunitas, Nicasio, and Ross Valley Districts attend Sir Francis
Drake.

Tamiscal
is the independent study/ alternative high school that serves the
students of the Tamalpais Union High School District. Its unique
setting provides opportunities for learning for students who have
health issues, significant off- campus activities, necessary
employment, family obligations or learning styles that make attendance
at a traditional school impractical.

SAN ANDREAS CONTINUATION ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL 599 William Ave Larkspur, Ca 94939 (415) 945-3770 Grades 9-12
San
Andreas High School is the Tamalpais Union High School District's
continuation/alternative education high school. The purpose if this
school is to provide an alternative learning environment for students
who have difficulty attending a traditional high school.
