PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN SAUSALITO

Students living in Sausalito are served by two public school districts.  The elementary and middle schools are served by the Sausalito Marin City District.  Students from Sausalito attend Tamalpais High School, which is in the Tamalpais Union High School District.


Sausalito Marin City District consists of two elementary schools and one middle school that serve the students living in Sausalito.

Tamalpais Union High School District offers secondary school education to students advancing from ten elementary districts in Marin County, including the Ross Valley School District. There are three comprehensive high schools as well as two alternative high schools within the Tamalpais Union High School District.

Tamiscal is the independent study/ alternative high school that serves the students of the Tamalpais Union High School District. Its unique setting provides opportunities for learning for students who have health issues, significant off- campus activities, necessary employment, family obligations or learning styles that make attendance at a traditional school impractical.

San Andreas High School is the Tamalpais Union High School District's continuation/alternative education high school.  The purpose if this school is to provide an alternative learning environment for students who have difficulty attending a traditional high school.

The Marin School, a private high school, is located in Sausalito.
