STINSON BEACH AND BOLINAS SCHOOLS

PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN STINSON BEACH AND BOLINAS

Two public school districts serve the towns of Stinson Beach and Bolinas.  The elementary school level is served by the Bolinas-Stinson Union School District and the secondary level is served by Tamalpais Union High School District. 

Bolinas-Stinson Union School District provides the educational needs of the small communities of Bolinas and Stinson Beach grades kindergarten through eighth grade.  

Tamalpais Union High School District offers secondary school education to students advancing from ten elementary districts in Marin County, including the Ross Valley School District. There are three comprehensive high schools as well as two alternative high schools within the Tamalpais Union High School District.

Situated on two separate campuses, Bolinas-Stinson School is the sole school in the district serving the children residing in Bolinas and Stinson Beach.  The Stinson Beach campus serves students grades Kindergarten through second.  The Bolinas Campus serves students grades three through eight.

Tamalpais High School has a comprehensive curriculum including Honors and Advanced Placement classes, foreign languages, technical arts, and a Global Studies program that provides the opportunity for travel and language immersion.  Students from Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Mill Valley, Marin City, and Sausalito attend Tamalpais High School.

Tamiscal is the independent study/ alternative high school that serves the students of the Tamalpais Union High School District. Its unique setting provides opportunities for learning for students who have health issues, significant off- campus activities, necessary employment, family obligations or learning styles that make attendance at a traditional school impractical.
