TIBURON SCHOOLS
PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TIBURON
Students living in Tiburon are served by two public school districts. The Reed Union SchoolDistrict serves elementary and middle school students and most high school students attend Redwood High School in the Tamalpais Union High School District.
Elementary students who live in the communities of Tiburon, Belvedere, and a portion of East Corte Madera are served by the Reed Union School District.
Tamalpais Union High School District offers secondary school education to students advancing from ten elementary districts in Marin County, including the Reed Union School District. There are three comprehensive high schools as well as two alternative high schools within the Tamalpais Union High School District.

2002 Reed Elementary was a recipient of the California Distinguished
School Award. In addition to a full California standards - based
academic program, there is a school-wide focus on developmentally
appropriate activities, positive reinforcement, integration of
technology and art into the curriculum, and a special motor development
program.

In
2000 Bel Aire was selected as a California Distinguished School. Bel
Aire Elementary School follows California State and Reed Union
Elementary District guidelines. Their curriculum meets or exceeds
government standards for education and they provide several
extracurricular programs such as Flute Sectional, Book Clubs,
Mad-Scientists, and Movie Club.

Del
Mar provides a daily academic program in language arts, math, science,
history/ social studies, and physical education, with a wide variety of
electives. Electives include Spanish, Instrumental Music, Steel Band,
Yearbook, Journalism, a variety of art classes, and multi-media. In
the fall of 2005 Del Mar inititated its Millennial Classroom Project by
providing every student with a laptop

In
2008 Redwood was selected as a National Blue Ribbon School and was
designated a California Distinguished School for the fourth time in
2007. A main academic building, industrial arts shops, fine arts
facilities, four computer laboratories, a large gymnasium, fitness
training center, practice gym, athletic fields, theater, Career Center,
outdoor amphitheater, swimming and diving pools, and tennis courts make
up the facilities.

Tamiscal
is the independent study/ alternative high school that serves the
students of the Tamalpais Union High School District. Its unique
setting provides opportunities for learning for students who have
health issues, significant off- campus activities, necessary
employment, family obligations or learning styles that make attendance
at a traditional school impractical.

Andreas High School is the Tamalpais Union High School District's
continuation/alternative education high school. The purpose if this
school is to provide an alternative learning environment for students
who have difficulty attending a traditional high school.

Hilary School is a Catholic coeducational elementary through middle
school. In 2004, a multi-million dollar facilities upgrade was
completed, providing a state-of the art gymnasium, a new Middle School,
a fully equipped science lab, an upgraded library and technology
